We have always had a love of buildings and we’re lucky in Melbourne to have an inspiring collection ranging from old grand and historically important structures, right the way through to modern, cutting edge designs.

We feel privileged to be in a position to pursue the artistic embodiment of the parameters set by our customers to deliver a project they can be proud of. We enjoy the creative process and once a design has been agreed, we strive to provide the very best building experience in Melbourne.

It’s immensely rewarding to develop a close working relationship with our customers and we understand the importance of ensuring our customers are aware of the overall process.

You only have to look around Melbourne to be inspired by the variety of design that’s available to us. Melbourne has a thriving design scene and it’s certainly something that helps give Melbourne its identity (although some public installations, such as the Vault have been rather controversial).

No opera house. No Bondi Beach. No sunning celebs. This is Melbourne, home of Australia’s most thriving design scene.

The Vault at Melbourne, Australia

A city for which a signature building is inappropriate? You’re about to run afoul of the tourism board.

Vault is perhaps Melbourne’s most reviled piece of public art. Rechristened the “Yellow Peril” when it debuted downtown in 1980, Ron Robertson-Swann’s work has moved twice since then. Now it resides outside the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.

It’s said beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what some might find to be a work of art, others might disagree. That’s why it’s important to understand that every person has their own idea of what constitutes a beautiful design. Everyone is different.

It’s therefore no surprise to recognise there is are a wide range of differing designs. It’s important to recognise personal tastes and that’s why we always take time to get to know our customers. We are always able to provide advice based on our 20 years of experience, but we also pay close attention to the desires of our customers.

Every property is different. Some are contemporary, modern, heritage and so on. This is why it’s vital to take the history and aesthetic qualities of a building into consideration when designing a carport that will truly complement the characteristics of the surrounding property.

You can utilise different materials and typically, either metal or timber is used where each material has its own advantages and disadvantages. Here at Custom Outdoor Living, we specialise in timber because of its many benefits including, strength, flexibility for design purposes, and affordability.

Carports Of The Future?

The following post Carports Of The Future? is available on Custom Outdoor Living Website

Carports come in all different shapes, sizes and designs. Our approach to designing carports is to carefully consider the look and feel of the existing property and take these factors into consideration to design and implement a structure that fully complements your property.

This means that over the last 20 years, we have designed and built a wide range of differing styles, from single width to double width carports.

But what are the carports of the future going to look like? With the likes of Airbus promising to deliver a flying car prototype by the end of 2017, you can only wonder as to what the future designs of garages and carports will look like.

Airbus promises flying car prototype to be ready by end of 2017

Flying cars may not be that far away, with the Airbus Group planning to test a prototype as a way of avoiding gridlock on city roads by the end of the year.

The aerospace group’s chief executive announced plans for the self-piloted flying car during a digital tech conference in Munich.

Airbus last year formed a division called Urban Air Mobility that is exploring concepts such as a vehicle to transport individuals or a helicopter-style vehicle that can carry multiple riders.
